Emeraude Lines

Emeraude Lines operated a ferry service between the Channel Islands and France, linking the ports of St Malo, Jersey and Guernsey. They ceased ferry serives in November 2005, and announced in May 2006 that they could not raise sufficient funds to purchase a new ferry, nor for a suitable ship to charter.

Emeraude Lines was established in 1904 as the `Bateaux de la Cote D' Emeraude', with the aim of transporting passengers along the Cote D' Emeraude (the Emerald Coast) of Brittany in northern France. The company then grew in the 1960's to operating ferry services between St Malo and the Channel Islands, offering high-speed catamaran crossings in recent years until its cessation of operations in 2005.
