Ferrimaroc pioneered their first-class ferry services between Almeria and Nador in 1994, and have improved connections over the Strait of Gibraltar ever since. Today they offer up to 20 crossings in each direction during the peak summer months.
Ferrimaroc's first ferry on the route, Scirocco has both self-service and a la carte restaurants, a cafeteria, a disco bar and VIP lounge, airline seats and shops. The much larger ferry Mistral was launched in June 1997 and facilities include a halal self-service restaurant, 3 lounge cafeterias, cinema, mosque, airline seats, games room and shops.
