Check-in Information

Bergen/Stavanger/Langesund - Hirtshals: Passengers departing from Bergen or Stavanger must check in at least 60 minutes before departure. Passengers departing from Hitshals must check in at least 90 minutes before departure. Check-in closes 20 minutes before departure. Kristiansand - Hirtshals : Passengers must check in at least 60 minutes before departure. Check-in closes 20 minutes before departure. Fjord Line reserve the right to reject passengers arriving at a check-in counter after the specified check-in deadline. Fjord Line gives no refund for paid tickets for passengers not complying to the specified check-in times.

Fjordline

Fjordline is a modern Norwegian ferry operator, established in 1993, that focuses on providing transport between Norway and the European continent. They have modern ships like MS Bergensfjord, Fjord Line Express, and MS Stavangerfjord.

Their ship MS Bergensfjord currently sails between Hirtshals in Denmark and Stavanger (4 services a week) and Bergen (3 services a week) in Norway, and has a Scandinavian buffet restaurant and an Italian based restaurant, as well as a a café, pub, and nightclub with live band.

In addition, in April 2010 Fjordline will launch a new service between Hirtshals and Kristiansand in Denmark. The journey will take 2 hours and 15 minutes on the high speed catamaran Fjord Cat, which has a cafeteria, restaurant and duty-free shopping onboard.

    Tempest-tossed - but arrived safely

    • That was quite a ride! Two barf bags provided by the cabin crew - just in case. Dinner stayed put but my plate nearly slid off the table. The crew is to be commended for getting us to Kristiansand safely.

    • Wonderfull on board buffet both am. and pm. Only criticism Toilets need cleaning more often.

    Great deal

    • I was very impressed by the assistance rendered by the staff at Ferrysavers. To be frank, initially I questioned whether it was a scam because the price on Ferrysavers was about 30 percent cheaper than that listed on Fjordline. In addition, the staff was kind enough to help me add the breakfast buffet even though they pointed out (rightly) that one could have easily walked in and booked on the cruise. Overall, I enjoyed the cruise ride from Hirtshals to Bergen via Stavanger and the discounted price on Ferrysavers was definitely a big plus. Would definitely book with Ferrysavers again if I have future cruise trip. Absolute value for money
