Iraklia is one of the smallest and most remote islands in the Cyclades, and is one of the least developed; there is no petrol station, no buses, no camping facilities and no taxis. However, many believe this adds to the charm of this delightful Greek island. There are still many things to do and see, for example, the incredible ruins of Zeus' temple are on this small island, as is the stunning Cave of Agios Ioannis of which the locals are hugely proud.

Boat trips, bird watching, snorkelling and hiking are all activities that should be experienced on the island, especially with the vast array of wildlife that can be found in the azure waters surrounding the island. And for those of you who love to experience new cuisine, Iraklian honey is an incredible taste of Greece, as is the cheese and fresh fish.
