Iscomar (Isleña Marítima de Contenedores) was founded in 1979 in Palma de Mallorca, focussing on freight transport until 1998 when it launched its first passenger service between Alcudia and Ciutadella. The ferry company continues to specialise in transport to the Spanish mainland and between the Balearic Islands.
