The Mahon ferry port is situated on the eastern coast of Menorca. Mahon ferry port is mostly used for passenger traffic and cruise ship stopovers.

Mahon (officially called MaĆ³, the Catalan name for the town) is the capital city of the Balearic Island of Minorca. Mahon boasts one of the deepest natural ports in the world and offers fantastic sights for lovers of nature. The island has almost as many beaches as Majorca and Ibiza combined, making it an ideal place for a holiday. One of Mahon's most beautiful buildings is the Gobierno Militar (Military Governor's House), which was built in the 18th century and is still used by the Spanish Army. The ancient town of Ciutadella (which has it's own ferry port) is also definitely worth a visit, as it is a very scenic place full of winding streets by the Mediterranean.

    OK but has been better.
    • The crossing should have been underway by 10pm and the check in assistant said we would commence boarding at 9pm to 9.30pm but boarding did not begin until 10.15pm. After a days travelling this felt like a long wait. We have done this crossing quite a few times and always have a cabin which is generally well appointed, bottles of water, towelling robes, slippers, comfort blankets and so on but this time although the beds were clean and comfortable there were none of these touches. However, the ferry got us to our destination quickly and quietly which is after all the main thing. I cannot comment on the quality of the onboard catering as we did not sample it but I saw quite a few people going towards the restaurant area so I assume the food was palatable at the least.

    a necessary event
    • we thought the ferry was a terribly unkempt and dirty ship. we did not enjoy it at all. the staffing was especially slovenly and very dirty.
