About Motril
Motril is the largest town on the Mediterranean coast with about 50,000 inhabitants. The town is located near the Guadalfeo River and 69 km (43 mi) from Granada. It's the largest town on the Costa Tropical with a thriving economy, based on agriculture, fishing and its leisure port. It is an ideal location for those wishing to explore the treasures of the coastal and inland regions of the Andalusia as it is situated halfway between Malaga and Almeria. Tourists can enjoy the sunny beaches, exquisite tropical produce, and the cultural heritage of the region.
There is so much to do in Motril, including visiting hermitages, 16th town hall building, and the Museum of Sugar, devoted to the sugar cane, which was the main industry of the city for centuries. If you're a golf player, then head to the nine hold Los Moriscos Golf Club. There is a huge variety of restaurants and bars for you to choose from if you are a little bit hungry. What more would you need? A good chance of decent weather, plenty of beaches and friendly locals!
