Dover Information

The town of Dover is possibly the UK's most famous ferry port, and is located in Kent on England's south coast. The city faces France across the narrowest part of the English Channel. Dover has always been a place of strategic importance owing to its location; some of the remains found there suggest that Dover was favoured by people wishing to enter England even during prehistoric times.

The town has many wonderful sights to visit, with Kearsney Abbey and St. Edmund's Chapel being the two biggest religious sites, and the famed white cliffs of Dover, as well as the massive Dover Castle, some of the most popular landmarks in the area.

Dunkirk Information

The Dunkerque (also known as Dunkirk) ferry port dates back the 8th century as a simple fishing harbour. Over time, Dunkerque ferry port became famous as a haven for pirates who preyed on shipping in the North Sea. Today, Dunkerque has become a fabulous seaside resort. Dunkerque ferry port offers all the necessary facilities including lounge areas.

Dunkerque is remarkably green for a major international port and industrial centre, which handles bulk cargoes from all over the world, as well as being a increasingly popular ferry port. When coming from the direction of Belgium, Lille or Calais, make sure you get on the A16. Follow the signs for Dunkirk (Dunkerque). Take exit 53 (24) and go to the right at the end of the exit. Go straight on at the two roundabouts and follow the road until you arrive at the DFDS Seaways ferry terminal.

    Excellent crossing
    • Delays expected due to bad weather however we ended up being placed on the earlier boat which was great. Food and service were great as usual (we use this service regularly). It's a good option but just a shame that we cannot access any special priced deals despite the number of times we cross.
