Barcelona - Alcudia (Balearia) |
|
Situated amongst the beautiful surroundings of the northern coast of Mallorca, the port of Alcudia is at the top of a large bay, home to an impressive white sandy beach. The port area is highly picturesque and represents one of the city's main attractions. Alcudia is an old town founded by the Phoenicians (it's actually the oldest city in Mallorca), and it has an historic charm.
Alcudia's waterfront is the focus of many visitors attention, with fantastic watersport opportunities available. Bars, restaurants and cafés are found all along the bay, which is also home to the town's cosmopolitan nightlife, and across Alcudia there are charming streets lined with shops and boutiques. There is also a superb and characteristic market on Sundays.

13 Oct 2019Our crossing
-
We didn't leave our cabin until the morning. Therefore can't comment on the facilities on the crossing. The breakfast was adequate and at a reasonable price. Very fresh. The cabin was clean, large and comfortable. Much better than our crossing over to majorca, which was quite noisy aircon and dusty cabin.

26 Jun 2018Strange boarding arrangements
-
Crossing was fine, on time and very comfortable, The loading arrangements at were strange, pillion passengers has to leave bike and travel as foot passengers hopefully meeting up with bike rider once on board. Foot passengers went through full security baggage scans etc, while rider loaded with full luggage completely unchecked. Motorbike was directed up steep slope on board to be parked on the Half deck. Unloading was down the ramp which was either over steel chevrons ( for car grip loading) or smooth steel between chevron which offered no grip with a heavy tourer 2 up. Would have been much simpler to have left bikes on 1st deck where there was plenty of room.
