Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland. It can be reached by ferry from the Scottish ports of Stranraer with Stena Line, from Douglas on the Isle of Man with the Isle of Man Steam Packet company and from Liverpool (Birkenhead) with Norfolkline Irish Norfolkline Irish. Belfast port is mainly reached by the M1. At the very end of the M1, follow signs for "The Docks" through the broadway roundabout and onto the Westlink. Follow the signs marked "M2, The Docks, Airport/The North." Keep in the left lane at the traffic lights then turn left at these lights onto York Street. Get into the right hand lane. Turn right at the lights just after Yorkgate Leisure Centre and Harry Ramsdens and go under the bridge. Stay in the left lane along Dock Street and follow the Port of Belfast sign.
