It was once the headquarters of the King's Navy and home of Christopher Jones, 'Master of the Mayflower'. Harwich has narrow streets, historic buildings and museums, including the Redoubt Fort. Adjacent is the Edwardian-style resort of Dovercourt, with its sandy beaches, boating lake and park. Get a ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg and Hook of Holland with DFDS Seaways and Stena Line.
