Found in the north-western corner of Crete, Kissamos has a fishing harbour and ferry port with regular arrivals from the Peloponnese via Kythira. 26 miles west of Chania, this charming seaside town is officially known as Kastelli-Kissamou (often abbreviated simply to Kastelli) after the Venetian castle that used to dominate the town.
