Stornoway is the only town in the Outer Hebrides and the port of Stornoway is the main commercial and industrial centre on the group of islands in Scotland. Stornoway ferry port also has a fishing fleet, cargo facilities and an excellent ferry terminal for all ferries to Stornoway. The town is easily reachable from the port as it is in the heart of the town and therefore accessible to all the shops, restaurants and facilities in the town centre.

Situated in the Isle of Lewis, this fairly large town has a population of 6,000 people but has the facilities and services of a town ten times its size; there is a vast array of shops, restaurants, cafes, sports facilities and a lot more. For people who like nature, you can take a cruise of the surrounding area from Stornoway's sheltered harbour to try and spot dolphins, whales, seals and even porpoises.

    Dog seating Area
    • my only problem was on the way back.. we had our dog with us 2 adults 2 kids and 1 dog but the dog area was full we managed to get 2 seats but ment 2 of us were standing, this area was full and most people in it did not have pets with them, we did approach staff but were told nothing they could do, so why have an area marked out for this ? but apart from this thanks again for a great crossing.

    Great Service but Expensive
    • I bought a Beef-burger (V.Nice) and two coffees which cost around £13-50. I nearly bought a third coffee to get over the shock!

    A fear of sailing overcome.
    • My dread of sailing was deflated by the high quality of the ferry, all round comfort and attentive shore and boat side personnel. The style and comfort of the passenger furnishings was faultless. Many thanks to all concerned.
