Situated on the mouth of the Elbe River, Cuxhaven is a large and important city but with a quiet, small town feel. Schloss Ritzebuettel is one of the main attractions within the city, it is a small castle-like building near the Nordersteinstra▌Ae shopping area of Cuxhaven. As well pretty beaches and World War II airship hangars to be discovered, the city is also perfect for a sport called mudflat hiking, which is a great workout as well as a lot of fun. Cuxhaven is free from pumping nightclubs and crazy nightlife, and is more of a city to come to if you want peace, quiet and a slice of old-style Germany.
