Gourock
Gourock is located 7 miles west of Greenock and 26 miles west of Glasgow on the end of the bank where the River Clyde meets the sea. It lies on the south shore of the Firth of Clyde about three miles west of Greenock. It wraps around Kempock Point, which projects into the Firth between Gourock Bay and West Bay. Both sides of the town climb towards the summit of Tower Hill, which commands extensive views over the Firth of Clyde to the mountains beyond.
Getting to/from Gourock
Today Gourock is the headquarters of the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry company. Gourock's main quay is also the terminus for the passenger-only ferry linking the town with Kilcreggan. It operats car ferry services to Dunoon and passenger ferries linking with Helensburgh and Kilcreggan.
