Mallaig
Mallaig is a port on the western coast of Scotland in the Highlands. The town is quite small but has a very pretty coastline that is perfect for picnics, games or just relaxing on a hot afternoon. Nearby is the Glenborrodale RSPB reserve which is home to dozens of native Scottish birds that will interest both children and adults alike.
You could also take a small cruise out to sea around the small islands off of the Scottish coast and spot more wildlife, such as dolphins, puffins or otters. For Harry Potter fans, you may recognise that the Mallaig railway station was used in some of the Harry Potter films, and for sporting enthusiasts, the Mallaig and Morar Highland Games takes place in the town every year and is always a great day out.
