Plymouth Information

Plymouth ferry port is located on the northern bank of the river Ply and has excellent connections to the city's centre and the surrounding area thanks to its excellent road and rail networks. The city has an amazing mix of historic seafaring port and vibrant modern city, and today visitors will find a bustling city centre with a host of specialist shops, contemporary restaurants, world class attractions and a wide range of pavement cafes and bar. Most of the shops and attractions of Plymouth are within a short walk of the city's pedestrianised city centre so it is easy for visitors to explore the city without being too far from the ferry port.

Roscoff Information

The charming port of Roscoff is found on the northern coast of Brittany, and is ideally located for exploring this beautiful region. It is also the ideal port for exploring France's Atlantic coast, Western Loire and the Dordogne. The Roscoff ferry port is located just outside of town and is accessed via the D58 coming from Plouesat and Morlaix. The terminal is signposted from this road.

Situated near the Western tip of Brittany, Roscoff provides an ideal destination for travellers heading for Brittany who prefer sailing in luxury to a long drive. Brittany Ferries operate a regular ferry crossing service to Roscoff with sailings from Plymouth every day. Roscoff still retains plenty of small town charm, with typical Breton houses clustered around the old fishing port, and several bars and restaurants.

    Why pay more
    • Saved about 40 percent compared with booking direct. Last minute is the way to go if you are flexible. Also do not book a return cabin just pay the £21 when they sell them off cheap when you board.

    Very easy
    • Very easy to book online. Loaded the vehicles onto the ferry quickly. We went out of season so no queues for food or drinks. Only thing that frustrated us was queue at passport control getting off in french side (channel tunnel does both at check in with makes getting away from port so much quicker)

    Plymouth-Roscoff return, with car.
    • Pricey for a car from Reading to Quimper and return. But the extra driving and probable overnight would cost about the same, and be gruelling unless one enjoys driving. Cabins compact and well appointed. Ladder to top bunk painful for bare feet. Friendly helpful staff throughout, much appreciated. Shop prices rather high for most things (we find sherry cheaper in, even, Waitrose). But you are a business and not a charity.
