    Scandlines is a German-Danish operator, and the largest ferry company in the southern part of the Baltic. Scandlines was formed by the merging of the largest national ferry operators of Germnay and Denmark in 1998. It runs services between Denmark, Sweden and Germany, as well as crossings to the Baltic States and inside Denmark, carrying over 17.3 million passengers in 2008.
