About Vlore
Vlore is Albania's second largest ferry port, having regular ferry connections with Italian ports of Bari and Brindisi, and is well positioned right by the main town. The city and port were founded in the 6th Century BC by the Greeks.
The town of Vlore has a real southern Mediterranean feel, with wide boulevards decorated by huge palm trees and gardens and olive groves outside the town that thrive in the warm climate. Although the town centre isn't the most picturesque, Vlore is popular is a tourist destination thanks to its position as the gateway to the Albanian Riviera and to the neighbouring Vlora Bay - the deepest, largest and most beautiful bay on the Albanian coast which is 19 km in length and home to beaches and crystal clear waters.
