Algeciras is a port city in the south of Spain, situated on the Rio de la Miel slightly to the north of Tarifa, sprawling round the far side of the bay to Gibraltar.
In recent years the port of Algeciras has become an important tourist destination, with popular day trips to Tarifa to see bird migrations and to Gibraltar to see the territory's unique sights and cultural blend.
