Ebbsfleet (officially known as Ebbsfleet Valley) is home to Ebbsfleet International railway station which offers high speed local trains and access to Europe via the High Speed 1 Eurostar line. Ebbsfleet is a new town and a redevelopment area in Kent, in south-eastern England and is part of the Thames Gateway.
The town is named after the valley of the Ebbsfleet River which it straddles, with the western portion of the town in the borough of Dartford and the Eastern portion in the borough of Gravesham. The town's river is of great historical importance and excavations have revealed signs of occupation of the area for over 100,000 years, with remains of both pottery and buildings being discovered.
