About Calais

Probably the most famous of French ferry destinations, Calais has been for decades synonymous with holidays in Europe. Calais ferry port is one of the busiest ports in Europe with up to 48 ferries a day departing from here on one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world.

The town of Calais is the closest French town to Britain and this makes it a popular ferry port for British tourists heading to France and vice versa. The town is rich in cultural heritage and has a wide variety of traditional French shops and restaurants. The location of Calais ferry port is ideally situated; just a stone's throw from Calais town centre so you don't have to waste a moment of your time.

    Good Weekend Abroard
    • Excellent service with FerrySavers. Not used them before so was a bit concerned with having no actual ticket, just a confirmation but all went well with no problems at check-in. Will definitely use them again in the future

A wonderful part of your holiday
    • Driving from Scotland to France, to some people seems like an expensive way to get there. But on the contrary if you plan your route and stops, you can have a fabulous journey. DFDS helped the travel a joy, Priority boarding, Premium Lounge, are optional but to our family are a must. The entire staff we came in contact with were polite and very helpful. Thank you DFDS we are looking forward to seeing you next July...

    Better value than competitors.
    • Very friendly staff greet you when you board. Ship is spotlessly clean, looks recently refurbished with plenty of comfortable sitting areas.
