Gills Bay is located near the community of Gills and is approximately 3 miles west of John o' Groats in northern Scotland. Gills Bay has one of Caithness's longest stretches of picturesque low lying rocky coast line along its northern shores. During a visit to Gills Bay visitors may like to indulge in one of the communities biggest attractions, wildlife spotting.

The harbour and the coastline surrounding it are teaming with wildlife, from wild sea birds to huge basking sharks. The largest animal population in the area though is that of the Common and Grey Seals which are known to swim into the harbour to bask on the rocks, a highlight of any visit.

    Excellent experience

    • Easy to book. Very good value. Check in staff friendly and efficient. Amazed at the skill and patience of the staff organising the vehicles on board. Punctual on both crossings we made. Cant really comment on the catering as I didn't consume anything but others were very complimentary. Would recommend without reservation
