The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is the world's oldest continuously operating passenger ferry service, having been founded in 1830. Today the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has exclusive use of the port in Douglas, and continues to offer a dedicated and reliable ferry service for the Isle of Man and its residents.
The Steam Packet Company uses both a conventional ferry (Ben-my-Chree) and high-speed catamarans (the Snaefell & the Manannan) on its routes; The Manannan was launched in May 2009, and is the largest catamaran operating on the Irish Sea. All of the Isle of Man's Steam Packet Company's fleet offer comfortable journeys; with a choice of restaurants and bars there is something to suit all tastes, and the Ocean Avenue shops offer savings on high street prices.
