Klemtu is situated in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest, on Swindle Island in the coastal fjords of British Columbia, approximately 219 kilometres north of Port Hardy, Canada.
The area itself is naturally lush with excellent wildlife. Klemtu has a rich culture and history centered around Aboriginal heritage and tradition. It is the home of the Kitasoo Native Band, and the original site of summer camps where the Xais-Xais and Kitasoo peoples came to fish and hunt.
There is so much to do here: you can take a cultural tour to view ancient petroglyphs, learn about wild foods, or visit the hatchery and Big House, with its magnificent totem poles. If you are an experienced paddler, then you can bring your own kayaks for independent exploring (kayak rentals are not available in Klemtu at the present time). Anglers enjoy casting a line and fishing for three different species of salmon.
Book your unforgettable journey to Klemtu with Ferrysavers!
