Getting to/from Lanta Saladan Pier
Lanta is accessible from the mainland either by car or passenger ferry. The passenger ferry operates during November - April only and is the most popular option during this time. During the off season and after the last passenger ferry has left, the only way to get to the island is to drive. During the 'low season' (May till late October), all passenger ferries stop operating and the only way to get to Lanta Island is either via taxi or minibus service from Ao Nang, Krabi Town or Trang. Boats leave from the pier in Saladan Village.
Take a note, please: There is no bridge connecting Koh Lanta with the mainland, and the only way to get there and from between 6am and 10pm is by car ferry services, which are only available during these hours. The only way to leave the island after these hours is by hiring a private boat.
Lanta Saladan Pier Pier
On arrival, you'll see the pier's car park and a terminal building where you can check in. Waiting areas are covered and there's a few small snack vendors. When your ferry comes, you'll need to take a short walk to the pier end with your bags, though it's not too far.
