Nautas Al-Maghreb
Nautas Al-Maghreb is a ferry division created by Balearia, the leader in maritime communications to the Balearic Islands, in 2003 to service the Algeciras to Tangier route. Nautas was founded to serve Moroccan citizens living in Spain, and to improve trade between Tangier and the south of Europe. Nautas Al-Maghreb operates fast-ferry catamarans designed for this route, with a crossing time of under 1 hour, and with lounges, comfortable seats, cafeterias and shops onboard. In 2010 Nautas moved their service to the new purpose built port of Tanger Med, about 45km from the city, which reduced crossing times.
