Tirrenia di Navigazone is the Italian state-owned ferry operator with the most comprehensive series of routes connecting Italy to the Mediterranean. Established in 1936 due to mass-nationalisation, Tirrenia has traditionally connected the Italian islands to the mainland.

Tirrenia has a large fleet of cruise-ferries and fast-ferries, which are fitted to a cruise-liner standard. On board a Tirrenia ferry you will find all the services expected from one of the best operators in Europe. Facilities vary by route, but can include a piano bar, shopping area, children's area, lounges, cinema and really comfortable cabins or armchairs. The restaurants can be self service or à la carte, offering a rich variety of Mediterranean cuisine and wines of the various Italian regions.
