About Kos

Kos is an island in the beautiful Sporades. There are many things to do on this island, including visiting the Plane Tree of Hippocrates, a dedication to the founder of Greek medicine, and the Asclepion, a temple much like a spa that was said to heal those who were wounded, diseased, blind or deaf in 5th century BC.

Kos has a 112km long coastline with stunning, immaculate beaches dotted with pretty, traditional villages and a rugged, mountainous backdrop. The island is also home to some mind-boggling fossils; both hippopotamus and elephant remains have been found on the island, and many are so well-preserved that they are given to the University of Athens.

Kos town is a great place to visit; it's full of tavernas, bars, restaurants and clubs, as well as a 14th century fortress! If you like day trips, then perhaps you could visit Nerantzia Castle, Kardemena village, the Kos Aquapark or Kos Thermes, a sea pool with hot, relaxing springs that have been proven to have healing features for skin illnesses. Whatever you do in Kos, you are certain to have an incredible time.
