Moby Lines

Founded in 1959, Moby Lines is an Italian company operating ferry services from Italy to the islands of the Upper Tirrenian Sea. Well-known for it's whale logo and the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes livery on the larger ships, Moby aims to consolidate its position as established leader in the field of shipping transport, as well as to ensure thorough customer satisfaction through its team of highly motivated and qualified personnel.

Moby Lines ships have all the comfort and facilities that you may need on board; on each ferry you will find an area entirely dedicated to children, a playroom for tots full of toys, a pizzeria, videogames, a snack bar and music for teens. Moreover, Moby's fast cruise-ferries have a special deck reserved for entertainment and relaxation, which includes a swimming pool and sundeck. The boats are also equipped with air conditioning, heating and stabilizers.

    Ferry to Nice, from Bastia
    • Luckily we had a cabin, it was a long trip. The staff was nice but a little understaffed. Lines long not many around to answer questions. Lots of dogs, maybe too many.

    Food for thought
    • Easy check in, but on board food was pretty ordinary. High prices for cold spaghetti. Dogs urinating on board was a bit of a turn off.

    Sardinia to Corsica
    • Unfortunately the ferry that I was supposed to take with Moby Lines broke down and they sent me an SMS and told me to call a certain telephone number. That number actually was not in use according to their office in Olbia and kept ringing and ringing and no one obviously answered. NOT GOOD. I did not give up, I drove up anyway to St Teresa and managed to get the other company to bring us over several HOURS later, but we made it over. Then there was so and so doubt if the Moby ferry would be fixed before the day that I was supposed to take it back from Corsica, so I did not take so so and maybe for an answer and made sure with the other company that they would take us to Sardinia if the Moby ferry would still be broken. The ferry was fixed and we made it over on schedule. Things can happen but I was constantly worried about not getting back correctly as planned and then possibly miss several flights going back to my country. Anyway, what can I say.

comfortable overnight crossing from Sardinia to Livorno.
    • We booked an inside cabin which was reasonably comfortable, good shower. The matrass was a bit thin but we still got a good sleep. Not troubled by any noise overnight. Very easy and quick embarkation. A short queueing time for getting off at Livorno.
